Biltmore Excellence: Customized Just for You
It could be that our off the shelf course offerings are not quite what you’re looking for. Your organization could have multiple needs that should be tailored to your group or industry. If so, allow us to design a customized program for you that is sure to be a great fit. Our experienced staff of instructional designers will listen to your needs first and then sculpt the professional development solution you’re looking for.
This process has a few steps involved (click on the steps below to see details):
Step 1: Establish Outcomes
The Biltmore® Center for Professional Development recognizes the unique insight you possess of your organization. We have found that tapping into this knowledge and seeking to understand your business helps us the most in designing programs. As we begin this process, we will ask first what outcomes you desire, and move forward from there. We will discuss your expectations, personalities of the team, and the dynamic you would like to produce. Here are some sample questions you may be asked during our needs assessment conversation:
- What are the tangible business results you would like to see as a result of this program?
- What are the key challenges currently facing your organization?
- How would you describe your current organizational culture?
- How do you define success in your organization?
Step 2: Choose the Players
You may already know exactly who you would like to attend this event, but our needs analysis will help you determine who will receive the greatest benefit from your customized program. We want to make sure that you have buy-in from key stakeholders and that we think through those who will be affected on the back end of the experience. For example, will there be a peer, supervisory, and direct report correlation? Or are you focusing on one or two components of these groups?
Take time to think through the team members you will bring to this event as well as their expectations. We have also found that it is a good idea to at least discuss this initiative with your Human Resources department so that they can help synch organizational goals. Of course, your participant roster is entirely your choice, and we look forward to partnering with you in their development.
Step 3: Construct the Program
This phase will get more specific and allow us to really hone in on the objectives and methods you are seeking. Your facilitator will explore the opportunities you have before you as well as guided discovery areas.
Once we have established the aforementioned criteria, you will receive a detailed proposal with an agenda, educational objectives, and briefings on the processes we will use to accomplish your goals. Also included will be program pricing, lodging/food and beverage information, and other experiences available to you and your group while on the Estate. If you choose to have an event delivered off of the Estate, the proposal will only include the program pricing and related expenses.
Step 4: Experience Your Creation
Your team will participate in your customized Biltmore® Center for Professional Development program. This will be an experiential, interactive session focused on:
- See It – Through experiential activities and guided behind-the-scenes field experiences, your team will observe Biltmore best practices in action.
- Learn It – We will weave in elements of our own core competencies throughout the instruction including people management, hospitality, casting vision, and business results.
- Do It – Your team will develop action plans based on stated outcomes to ensure concrete action upon return.
Step 5: Evaluation
Our facilitators will lead a workshop where you develop a list of observable behaviors and business results you would like to see as a result of this program. Each participant will leave with action steps toward meeting the overarching goals.
